The JDHF was delighted to be the recipient of a $5000 grant from the ASPCA and Subaru in support of our transport program. The initiative relocates companion animals from high kill shelters in Los Angeles, to new homes and new lives in regions of the United States where the demand for adoptable pets exceeds the supply from shelters and rescue groups.

The welfare of companion animals in the shelter system is an important issue for the Heigl Foundation and we routinely fund projects aimed at improving facilities at centers that care for homeless pets. Two recent recipients of grants from the JDHF include the Heber Valley Animal Shelter in Utah and Tulare Animal Services in California.
