Chatting to People Pets about her latest animal welfare initiative, the Just One pet products brand, JDHF co-founder Katherine Heigl spoke about the impetus for creating the line and the challenges of family life in a full house with seven dogs (four of whom are rescues), three cats and two small children.
Katherine Heigl today announced her newest venture, Just One, which features a line of specially designed pet products. A percentage of each purchase will help to spay and neuter pets, place shelter animals in loving homes and help end the euthanizing of 10,000 companion animals a day.
In the October issue of the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation Newsletter, Dr. Stan Kunin examines canine Diabetes Mellitus, a very complex disease caused by a deficiency in the hormone insulin. Diabetes is relatively common in middle-aged and older dogs, but with proper management your four-legged patient will still enjoy a good quality of life.
The Heigl Foundation is profoundly grateful to our dedicated group of volunteers who donate their valuable time to help us achieve our goals. In a new feature, in conjunction with our quarterly newsletter, we hope to highlight some of the special people that work tirelessy to help animals in need.
