On December 13, volunteers from the Bark Avenue Foundation and many locals arrived at the Kern County Animal Shelter to rescue 76 dogs from euthanasia and transport them to safety.
For the lucky Chihuahuas, Terriers, Pomeranians and other small breed dogs who were loaded onto a van and driven to the Northwest Organization For Animal Help (N.O.A.H) in Washington State, the journey represented a second chance at life. The dogs will arrive in Washington on Tuesday morning and will be available for adoption just in time for Christmas!
The transport was jointly funded by the JDHF and the Bark Avenue Foundation and all of the dogs were spayed or neutered and medically checked to ensure they were ready for adoption.
